    The Little Rock Nine was a group of nine African American students that enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957. Them going there was followed by the Little Rock Crisis, which the students were not allowed from to enter the racially segregated school by Orval Faubus, the Governor of Arkansas.     James Earl Ray assasinator of MLK, A confirmed racist and small-time criminal, Ray began plotting the assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in early 1968. He fought organized crime and was a supporter of the civil rights movement. After JFK's assassination, Robert was elected to the U.S. Senate representing the state of New York.
