America launches ist first satellite into space, its called the Explorer 1. The Explorer 1 was used to measure radiation enviorment on Earths Orbit. America was eagar to launch a satellite after the Soviet Union launched the Sputnik 1 just about three months before. -

The first Super Bowl was hosted in the Los Angeles Memorial Colisuem in 1967. The Green Bay Packers and the Kanas City Cheifs went head to head for the victory. In the end the Packers won. Bart Star the Packer quaterback gained MVP. -
Martin Luther King JR Is Assinated
King Martin Luther King JR was assinated outside the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. They rushed him to the hospital, but didn't make it long after he arrived there. He was only 39 years old. He later recived the Nobel Peace Prize. -

The Space Shuttle "Challenger" Explodes
Challenger
On January 28th, 1986 the Challeger space shuttle exploded 73 seconds into its journey into space. The explosion took 7 astronauts lives and it is considered the wost accident in the history of U.S. space program. Later after investagation they found out that the O rings that are supossed to seperate the sections of rocket didn't seperate which lead to an explosion. -

President Nixion resigns from office before he is impeached. Nixion got caught for covering up the Watergate Scandal. People on Nixion's team bugged the offices of their polical ememies. -
