    John Kennedy was amongst nine other children in the Kennedy household, and was one of the most unhealthy babies. His older brother Joe continually picked on him, though likely cause John was the only one who could stand up to Joe being the oldest.

    The biggest problem Kennedy faced at home in The States was racial segregation. On this day the U.S Supreme Court Ruled that segregation at public schools would no longer be allowed, and actually sent militants to protect African Americans entering schools in Arkansas.

    On March 1st President Kennedy announced the creation of an orginization called The Peace Corps that would offer American's the chance volunteer anywhere in the world that needed aid. This organization is still alive and well today.

    President Kennedy was the first President to ask Congress to approve to 22 Billion dollars for the project which had the goal of landing on the moon before any other nation. The Apollo Project outlived the Preident, but his work was not in vein.

    The Cold War was underway with the Soviet Uninon shortley after Kennedy took office, and was faced with one of his most daunting moments in office labled the Cuban Missile Crisis in which for two weeks the U.S stood on the brink of nuclear war with Cuba.

    John F. Kennedy proposes a new Civil Rights bill to congress and makes his famous statement " one hundred years of delay have passed since President Lincoln freed the slaves, yet their heirs, and their grandsons, are not fully free."

    President Kennedy flew to Texas to give several political speeches. The next day as his car was slowly rolling past cheering crowds in Dallas, shots rang out. President Kennedy died shortly after. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the crime, and later assasinated himself.
