    The Bracero rrogram began. Mexican laborers migrated to the United states to work on farms. The term Bracero means worker who works with his arms. The Mexican Laborers (braceros) worked with a short handed hoe.

    Along with Filipino workers, 1,200 member families vote to join the strike. The 5 year Delano Grape Boycott begins.

    Chavez leads a peregrination from Delano,CA to the San Juaquin Valley. The march is of 100 workers and it is 25 days of walking. The purpose of this was to bring attention to the treatment farm workers recieved.
