UN troops forced Communists back to 38th Parallel. Seoul recaptured by Allies? in March for the last time. General MacArthur replaced with General Ridgway after disobeying orders and arguing to use nuclear weapons against China/ expand the war needlessly. -

Negotiations at Panmunjom last for two years. Fighting continues across a well established frontier. Little territory changes, but significant loss of life occurs. Chinese soldiers come so quickly the "american guns jam". The armistice is signed and the war ends
