    Angkor wat began construction in the name of jayavarman the second. The word Angkor wat means monastery and wat means capital.

    Beginning of the rule of jayavraman VIII

    ayavarman VIII began his rule over the Khmer Empire. He ordered for all known Buddhist temples to be destroyed. He immediately made Hinduism the main religion

    Return of budda

    Buddhism strikes back and becomes the main religion of the Khmer Empire.

    Attack of the Thai

    The Thai army attacks the Khmer empire and almost destroys Angkor wat.

    Abandoning of Angkor

    In the year 1432ce the Khmers fled Angkor. Over the centuries of there vacancies the jungle grew densely in and around Angkor and it was forgotten. Possibly even recognised as a legend.

  • Thai attack

    The king of Thailand orders yet another attack on the Khmer empire. This time the Thai are successful and are able to defeat the Khmer empire

  • Vietnam attack

    Vietnam rapidly attacks Vietnam. They defeat the Khmer empire. Delta eventually defeat the Khmer

  • Jayavarman becomes the God King of the Khmer empire.

    Jayavarman was crowned in the year 802ce(common eradeva-raja).he killed his uncle to become the king. He had himself made a deva-raja or a god king.
