    Only three months after gaining power, the Nazis began targeting the Jews. They did this by targeting them in newspapers and with propaganda, basically saying don't shop at Jewish establishments. This only lasted for one day and many people did not listen. However, this marks the start of the nationwide campaign against the Jewish.

    Law for the “Prevention of Offspring with Hereditary Diseases”
    This law mandated the sterilization of any disabled people. This new law caused many in the population to be forcefully neutered or spayed. This included Roma, blind, deaf, and Afro-Germans as just a few examples.

    The German president dies. Hitler, as chancellor, then used the German military to become president. Then he abolishes the position of president, making him the complete dictator.

    After becoming president, Hitler abolishes the position of president. He declares himself Führer of the German people. He is now in complete control of Germany.
  • Nuremburg Race Laws

    The Reichstad passes these laws. They in essence define what a "Jew" is, as well as other races. With these new laws, you could be persecuted just for having three or four Jewish grandparents.
  • German invasion of Poland

    German invasion of Poland
    Germany invaded Poland, bringing WWII to Europe. They used heavy bombings and shelling to force them to surrender within a month.
  • War is declared

    War is declared
    Britain and France both honor their agreement with Poland and declare war on Germany. This happened in response to the invasion of Poland just two days earlier. WWII is slowly building up.
  • Auschwitz Established

    Auschwitz Established
    The SS establish Auschwitz approximately 37 miles west of Krakow. This was the largest and most well-known concentration camp, with an estimated 1.1 million people dying there. It was not liberated until the end of the war.
  • Jewish badge

    Reinhard Heydrich declares that all Jews over the age of six must wear an identifying badge. This was done to help the police force identify, segregate, and humiliate Jews. It was generally a yellow star with the word "Jew" sewn in the star.
  • Hitler commits Suicide

    Hitler commits Suicide
    Many Soviet forces move toward to his command bunker in central Berlin. Knowing he can't escape, he commits suicide. Berlin then falls within days.
