The rise of the automobiles was huge for families. Not only did they have a chance to move their family to raise them in a different location (maybe not in town) but a chance for different employment opprotunities -
Store bought goods
Instead of staying home all day making the food and sanitary items, women were saving time by buying these products at the store. This gave them a chance to maybe get a job if they did not already have one or spend more time doing other chores or with their children -

Kitchen Aids
With the inventions of the stove and the fridge, the number of servants became smaller and smaller. That makes me think that more and more children were now taken care of by their parents again. -
TV
TV was invented for leisure time. We of course what it does, but I assume it changed the families more than one way. They may have stayed in more, learned about news mor often. And really could have been more educational for them -
Cleaning Service
Instead of servants, child care and cleaning service had become the new normal. -
Internet Shopping
I'm sure then like now, you can buy anything online so it frees up a lot of time -
