Motorized Vacuum Cleaner
Before the vacuum cleaner the family would have to sweep and clean their own homes. The motorized vacuum allowed the family to have someone come clean their house which gave them more time to work on other things around the house. -
Electric Washing Machine
The washing machine allowed the family to wash their clothes without working so hard to get them clean. Before they had to hand wash them and it took a lot of time and work. But now they could just throw their clothes in the machine and do other things while the clothes were washing. -
Hoover vacuum
The hoover allowed the family to clean their own homes with a more efficient vacuum. The whole device could fit inside their house and they could do the work themselves. This allowed them to be able to do the work faster and anytime they wanted to. -
Electric toaster
This invention allowed families to be able to cook other things while their bread was in the toaster. It also was easier for them because the food was less likely to be burned. -
Electric Dishwasher
This allowed the families to spend more time doing other things than washing the dishes. The family had more time to spend together since they had less chores to do round the house. -
Electric Refrigerator
The electric refrigerator allowed the family to keep food longer and they were able to purchase more food at once. -
Garbage Disposal
This was an advancement for families because food could be put down the garbage disposal instead of in the trash and making it smell really bad in the house until it was time to be taken out. It also helped keep their sinks from getting clogged. -
Electric Dryer for Clothes
The dryer allowed the family to quickly dry their clothes indoors instead of waiting for them to dry outside on a line. -
Color TV
This allowed the family to watch tv with better quality and a more relatable picture. -
Microwave Oven
The microwave oven was helpful to the family because it made cooking food easier and faster. -

Helped the family be able to keep track of their money better and be able to spend their money without carrying a lot of cash around -

Allowed people to be able to open cans faster and safer. They no longer had to worry about being cut my the can or hurting themselves while trying to open the can -
Affordable Smoke Detector
This allowed the family to live in safer homes because they were able to be alerted if there was a fire. It would let them know before it was too late. -
Personal computer
The personal computer was the first affordable and accessible computer that people starts to bring into their homes. It was one of the first steps to the technology we have today. -
Electric Sewing Machine
This allowed families to make clothes and blankets faster since the machine would mostly sew for them. Hand sewing took so much more time and this invention allowed them to make more things in a shorter amount of time. -
Cell Phone
Allowed people to be able to call others faster and at anytime. It made communicating easier and more convenient. -
World Wide Web
This was the start of the family being able to look things up quickly instead of searching through books. -
Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
This device vacuums our houses for us and we do not have to do any work at all. It gives us more time to do other things. It can be vacuuming our house while we are at work. -
USB Flash drive
This allowed people to be able to transfer document from computer to computer. It allowed more people to work from home and spend more time with their families since they could take their work anywhere they needed to. -

Allowed people to look thing up on the internet, check emails, and run other applications on the go. People also were able to look up directions instead of using a map. The smartphone became really convenient for people with busy lives who are always on the go. -
Skype
Skype allows people to video chat with family and friends that are far away. This helps us keep good relationships and connections. -
Bluetooth
Having bluetooth allowed families to get more wireless things in their house. Not only did it make their houses look cleaner but it made it safer. There were less wires for pets and babies to chew on and less wires to trip on. It also made it easier to be able to place things wherever we want them instead of close to a plug in -
Robotic Lawn Mower
This allows the family to spend more time together or doing other things while the robot cuts the grass for them. It is also helpful because the robot can be out cutting the grass while the family is at work and school. -
Kindle
Allowed people to be able to read on the go. It allows you to read almost any book you can think of so you can start reading whenever you want without having to make a trip to the library -

Allowed people to search for things very quickly and let them look up almost anything they can think of. It also advanced education and schools. -

This allows families to be able to get on wifi whenever they want -
Programmable Crock Pot
A programmable crock pot allows you to set a time for it to turn on by itself so when you get home your food is ready to eat. This allows families to prepare food while they are away from the home and be able to eat right away without preparing it. -
Home conversational System
This allowed families to be able to communicate to a speaker in the house and it does what you tell it to do. If you tell it to turn off the lights or turn on music it does. This allowed families to not have to do anything manually
