Thomas Jefferson is also responsible for the Louisiana purchase which more than doubled the size of our country. Thomas Jefferson was an amazing President that deserves our respect.

James Madison was what you would call persistent. James Madison is known for his leadership in The War of 1812. James Madison was not really a fun guy to hang out with, he just was a plain president.

British Troops enter Washington, D.C. ,and burn the White House in retaliation for the American attack on the city of York in Ontario Canada, in June 1812. This was a big deal for the President. The President had to flee, and I believe his wife saved the American flag, and a panting of George Washington.

No country technically won the War of 1812 all though others thought that the US won the war. Although historians believe we tied with Britain which was a great accomplishment for the US. The US is said to win because we were an independent nation. The Treaty of Ghent ended The War of 1812.

James Monroe was known for The Monroe Doctrine. The Monroe Doctrine was a political policy that was approved by James Monroe. Basically what this document said is we have a major problem going on, countries are starting to regret some of the previously fought wars they fought.

A lot of people believed in The Manifest Destiny. in the 1840's people became preoccupied with expansion. many believed that their movement westward was predestined by God. Manifest Destiny was the belief that the U.S. would expand "from sea to shining sea."
