  • Chinese Civil War (between Jiang Jieshi and Mao Zedong)

    Jiang Jieshi was a 20th-century Chinese political and military leader. He is known as Jiang Jieshi (Chiang Chieh-shih) or Jiang Zhongzheng (Chiang Chung-cheng) in Standard Chinese. Chiang was an influential member of the Kuomintang (KMT) (which is also transcribed as Guomindang in Pinyin), the Chinese Nationalist Party.
  • Berlin Airlift

    This was one of the many things that help the Soviets to drop all of the supplies that they needed to give to Berlin, Things like food, fuel, and aid. this also help the Soviets gain a little control over the city of Berlin.
  • Berlin Bloackade

    The Berlin Blockade was the first major international crises in the Clod War. The Soviet Unoin put the blockade into effect to block of of the Western Allies. This was suposed to give the Soviets the entire control over the city of Berlin.
  • Fomation of the NATO

    The North Atlantic Treaty Organization also called the North Atlantic Alliance, was created on April 4, 1949.The North Atlantice Treaty Orgainization(NATO) was an intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty.
  • National Security Council Report NSC-68

    National Security Council Report 68 (NSC-68) was a 58-page top secret policy paper issued by the United States National Security Council on April 14, 1950, during the presidency of Harry S. Truman. It was one of the most significant statements of American policy in the Cold War. NSC-68 largely shaped U.S. foreign policy in the Cold War for the next 20 years, and involved a decision to make Containment against global Communist expansion a high priority.
  • Korean War

    Te Korean War was a war between the Republic of Korea (South Korea), supported by the United Nations, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), at one time supported by China and the Soviet Union. It was primarily the result of the political division of Korea by an agreement of the victorious Allies at the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War II. The Korean Peninsula was ruled by the Empire of Japan from 1910 until the end of World War II.
  • President Truman fires General MacArthur

    On 11 April 1951, U.S. President Harry S. Truman relieved General of the Army Douglas MacArthur of his commands for making public statements that contradicted the administration's policies. MacArthur was a popular hero of World War II who was then the commander of United Nations forces fighting in the Korean War, and his relief remains a controversial topic in the field of civil-military relations.
  • Formation of the Warsaw Pact

    The Formation of the Warsaw Pact was created to counterweight the National Atlantice Treaty Orgainization(NATO).
