    The Yalta Conference
    Yalta Conference took place at Crimea, Russia. ‘Big Three’ (Rossevelt, Churchill, and Stalin) make important decision about future progesses of the war and post wars. At the same time the Cold War begins.
  • Potsdom Conference

    Potsdom Conference
    Potsdom Conference was the last of WWII head state conference. It was held at Cecilienhof Palace that involved “Big Three” which was Turman, Stalin, Churchill, Atlee. After the conference the country of Germany was partitioned into four zone.

    Iron Curtian decends on Europe
    Iron Curtian or "Sinews of Peace" speech was made by Winston Church. Basically the "iron Curtian" was descended on Europe. The speech was given at Westminster College at Fulton Missouri.

    Truman joined to be active in the Greek Civil War. He had an argument that the Communist victory from the Civil War would endanger Turkey's image. Also the U.S. wouldn't help him because they thought the Soviet had something to do with Civil War.

    It was announced by setting up a precedant form helping other countries. The plan was to help iwth combat proverty, mainutrition, and disease. This Plan was also known as the Tripartite Aggression.

    Creation of Israel
    The Jewish Agency wanted to establish the state of Israel. David Ben- Gurion was the head person of the agency who wanted this to happen. One of our president Harry S. Truman agreed and recongized Israel on the same day.

    It was the first major international crises in the Cold War. Basically it was a Berlin blockade until May 12, 1949. The Berlin airlift carried supplies to West Berlin for people.

    "The North Atlantic Treaty Organization." NATO is in Brussels, Belgium which is one of the 28 member state across North Ameria and Europe. AFter the Berlin Wall fell it was drawn into break up of Yugoslavia.

    The war was between the Rebulic of Korean and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It supposely ended on July 27, 1953.
    When North Korea did the invation it alarmed the American Officals.

    It began with Iseraeli attack that was lead by Moshe Daylan. They were against Egyptian forces in Sinal. Then Egypt took over the Suez Canal.

    Sputnik I changed history forever. It was the Soviet Union who successfully launched it. Sputnik was the size of a beach ball.

    Sputnik 2 was launched into orbit. Laika was the first living animal who was a dog in space, but later died. Sputnik 2 was 4 meters high with a cone- shaped capsule.

    NASA means National Aweonautics and Space Administration. It was make to compete with Russia during the Cold War. Back then it was the "Space Race."

    "Bay of Pigs invasion"
    The bay of pigs invasion was a faild attempt to go after a group of anti-castro rebellion. Basically it was planned by a group of Cuban exiles through the U.S. Also it was defeated by two day by Cuban armed forces.

    The wall was divide East Germany and West Germany. Gaurds were set up along the wall so people wouldn't escape. While the wall was up 98 people died for trying to cross the wall.

    Mainly on the 14th the U.S. had U-2 fly over Cuba to take pictures of the missile sites. Then from the 14th- 17th Joint Chiefs of Staff told Kennedy to make air strike. On the 26th Kennedy pubily announced to never invade Cuba.

    The people of Berlin dug a 470 foot tunnel to go to the other side of the wall. Tunnel 57 allowed 57 Berliners who lived in the East to escape to the west. Event happened on October 3rd.

    USS PUEBLO Incidnet was involved with seizures and higacking by North Korean military force. After the seizure the diplomatic tenition heightened between U.S.A. and North Korea. This started at twight of the 21 and didn't end til 23.

    Egypt and Syria attacked Isreal. While this was happning Egypt asked the Soviet Union to help them. This didn't end til October 26, 1973. The attack was the Kippur War.

    This was the day that Salt one was signed. It was the strategic arms limitation between US and SU. Basically it was to disarm pacts to attmpt to limit number of missiles.

    All the begging Rossevelt wouldn't accept the fact that France was recolonizing Vietname. Basically the first thing we did was sent ground troops to Vietnam. We helped by getting troops to help South Vietnam's defense until they could take over.

    Basically it was the day that SALT 2 peace treaty happened. It was to strategic arms between US and SU. Basically it was to disarm pacts to limit numbers of missiles.

    It all started when an angry mob of "Students" that called themselves "Imam's Disciples." The Hostage only held 66 U.S. Citizens and Diplomats. After the hostage only women and african- americans were released after a short time, but 51 hostages were imprisoned for 444 days.

    Grenada was invaded and over thrown by U.S. troops. This didn't end til' December 15, 1983. After this invastion U.S. had victory.

    The olympics was taken place in Moscow or was. The boycott was involved with 14 countries and allies led by Soviet Union. After the boycott the countries organized made another even called "Freindship Games" in July- August of 1984

    Tiananmen Square Massacre
    This massacre didn't end til June 4, 1989. This was commonly known as June Fourth Incident. The week before this happened the former party leader Hu Yaobang died

    At 10:30 p.m. the border was opened. The Berlin Wall was taken down. Which allowed East and West Germany to be unrestricted migration.

    Dissolving of the Soviet Union
    The Soviet Union was separated into 15 different contries. The U.S. rejoiced when the enemy was on their knees. Along with this it bascially ended the Cold War too.
