This started a 13 day standoff between the US and Cuba/Soviet Union. The United States and Soviet union came to an agreement that the Soviet union would remove the missles from Cuba if the US did not invade Cuba. A secret agreement was also made for the US to remove its nuclear weapons in Turkey.
