Berlin Blockade/ Airlift
Massive transport of essential suppies into Berlin by British and US forces. The Komandatura aided Berlin , but the Soviet rep left and stalin cut off access to Berlin so the US flew in allies, more than 277,264 flights were made carrying 2,343,315 tons of food and coal. Allies started a counter blockade and stalin agreed to lift the blockade on Berlin if the counter blockade was suspended. -
Sputnik 1
the first artifical Earth satelite was launced by the Soviiet Union. The triger to the space race with the U.S. -

Berlin Wall
Sealing off West erlin from ground acess execpt acceptable East German Goverment.
More than 23.400 East German tried to go West, hundreds died trying to escape over it.
In 1989 People took hammers to it and started to take down the wall. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
It was rounded that Cuba wanted to attack the U.S by nuclear weapon. U.S helped Cuba become independent. The U.S and Cuba started trading. Kennedy almost started a nuclear war. They both made an agreement to take down missiles. -
Vietnam War
Ngo Dinh Diem converted the state of Vietnam to the Vietnam Republic and claimed its presidency. John F. Kennedy aided South Vietnam in a civil war against communist Viet Cong. Diem was assisinated, later on Kennedy was also assisinated. North Vietnam attacked the USS Maddox, then the U.S launched air strikes against North Vietnam. The air strikes lasted from 1965-1986. Viet Cong attacked 5 major South Vietnamese cities and 100 villages. In 1973 the U.S was no longer part of the war. Ended 1975 -

The Russian empire was the beginning of the expansion of communism in the 14th century Russian Civil War. The Russian Red Army won then recaptured most of their taken territory. The cost of the Cold War combined with the non-Russian Centrifugal forces inherit within the Soviet Union and eventually brought its downfall
