The Cuban missile crisis was a 13 day onfrontation between the US and the Soviets over missiles in Cuba. The significance of this was that the Soviets were closer to us with weapons that we were comfortable with and they put the missiles in Cuba without us knowing. The outcome was that the Soviets and the US made an agreement to remove the missiles from cuba and the areas where the US had missiles as well. -

SALT I was signed be the US and the Soviets over intentions to restrain the arms race with missiles armed with nuclear weapons. The significance of this was that detente was taking place between the US and the Soviets. Detende is when hostility and restraint is eased between countries. The outcome of SALT I was exactly what it was signed for, to limit the arms race for nuclear missiles. -

Al qeada attacked the US world trade center on the eleventh of september in 2001. This attack was significant because it showed that the US was vulnerable and that we could be attacked. The outcome of this was worry and hardship trying to figure out how to cope with this attack. This was also the beginning of a war on terrorism. Al Qeada was a militant group organized by Osama Bin Laden. -
