    The French are defeated at Dien Bien Phun after the Viet Minh surround and attack the French until after losses of at least 3000. The French surrender.
  • Bay of Pigs Invasion

    Bay of Pigs Invasion
    The Bay of Pigs Invasion was an unsuccessful United States backed invasion of Cuba by the armed wing of the DRF (Democratic Revolutionary Front) known as Brigade 2506 from the 17th to the 19th of April 1961. The brigade consisted of almost solely Cuban exiles and was named after the membership number of a soldier who died in a training accident. The invasion only lasted three days after the Cuban Army under direct command by Fidel Castro, defeated the Brigade 2506, killing and capturing survivor

    After the US had placed missiles in Turkey, the Russians in response placed missiles in Cuba. What followed was a 13 day standoff leaving the two sides on the brink of Nuclear war.

    Berlin Wall
    It was a wall erected by East Germany as a barrier between East and West Berlin in response to concerms of mass emigration and defection. In the walls nearly 30 years, 5,000 people attempted to escape over the wall with 600 being killed. It was finally torn down in 9th of November 1989
