  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Brittain will put a tax on sugar, rum, and other imported goods like molasses and syrup to overcome their debt from the war. Other imported goods were taxed and the colonists hated paying taxes for them.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    King George III sent over Brittish soldiers to protect the colonists from the French and Native Americans. The soldiers would stay in the colonist's houses, eat their food, and take their supplies.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Act stated that any paper material like cards, stamps, liquor licenses, and dice would be taxed anytime you purchased them. The colonists strongly despised paying taxes on things for entertainment and everyday use.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    The Brittish passed this act to prevent the colonists form importing goods and sending things away, if you were caught doing any of the above there were harsh consequences. You could be jailed, killed or beaten.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    Brittian passed this act to help East Indian Company have a monopoly over other tea and goods companies. They passed this to help them financially and so they could raise the price of tea with only one supplier. If you were a tax collector people hated you and would kill or harm you.
  • Coercive/Intolerable Acts: Boston Port Act

    Coercive/Intolerable Acts: Boston Port Act
    The act prevented colonists from transporting goods in or out of the colonies. The act prevented any boats trnsporting goods from entering the colonies or they would be killed or sent back. They don't want another Boston Massacre to happen.

    Coercive/Intolerable Acts: MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act
    The act was passed to prevent colonists from getting together and have organized meetings to plan massacres and other terrible things. The government wanted to prevent the colonists from getting violent and harming Brittain.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    The act expanded the colonies into Maine and anybody who lived there either had to get out or was now under Brittain's control but, they could still be Catholic. They were now under Britan's control and had to pay taxes and overcome debt.
