  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    Colonists couldn't produce their own rum and had to have sugar imported to america and a tax was put on sugar to pay the debt of the war.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    Colonists had to provide room and board for soldiers that came to their area. The British don't have to provide barracks for soldiers because of this act.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    Many legal papers and other papers like needed a stamp to be sold or used. Some include commercial papers, licenses, etc. They made the act because the Sugar act failed and it was a similar tax British citizens had to pay.
  • The Downshend Act

    The Downshend Act
    It extended the power of British soldiers to stop smuggling. They made this act to try and keep The Stamp Act from becoming illegal.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    It Granted the British East India Company a monopoly on tea. This act was created because the British wanted to help the troubled East India Company.
  • Boston Port Act

    Boston Port Act
    It states that you can't sell merchandise over seas. The British made this act to punish Massachusetts.
  • MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act

    MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act
    You couldn't have a political meeting or trial without a governor's consent or presence. King James III wanted to keep the meetings and trials serious and no messing around.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    People in Quebec were allowed to keep their catholic faith and that Quebec could expand. The British government wanted to tax more people in expanded areas.
