In 1733 john peter zenger was charged with libel, or publishing works against the government. In his newsletter he mentioned the actions of the corrupt governor,who responded with criminal accusations. john went free and freedom of speech was inspired. -

A war fought in america against the alliance of the french and the indians and the english, who relyed heavily upon the taxes of the colony. -

This proclamtion, made by the english monarchy closed of the american frontier to colonization. -
The stamp act
The stamp act was a tax imposed onto the colonist by the british crown. It put taxes on paper and other things. -
The quartering act
This act also forced upon the colonies by the british government forced those in the colonists to give room and board to soldiers. -
The declaratory act.
This was used by the crown to save face after the boycotts of the sugar act and the stamp act forced them to repeal both acts. -

The reading and signing of the declaration of independence of america from britain. This was a slap across the face to teh british crown and spurred the revolutionary war into full gallop.
