    This was a tax imposed on all printed goods in the colonies, in an effort to pay for the French and Indian War.
  • Townshend Revenue Act

    This act is what raised the taxes so high in the colonies and one of the first causes of the Revolution.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre occurs, killing 3, and wounding 10.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Act is passed, allowing the EIC to directly sell tea to the colonists.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Sons of Liberty, disguised as Indians, sneak aboard British ships and dump 90,000 lbs of tea into Boston Harbor.
  • Intolerable Acts Passed

    From March 31st to June 22nd, the Intolerable Acts were passed by Parliament on the Colonies. All of these Acts (Except maybe the Quebec Act) caused outrage in the colonies.
