The French and Indian War
It first began over an issue of whether the Ohio River valley was apart of the British Empire. It was also fought to see if France or Britain would be the strong power of North America. However, they opened for trade and settlement by Pennsylvania and Virginia. -

The Albany Congress was to secure the collaboration of the Iroquois when fighting the French. The Albany Congress which was proposed by Benjamin Franklin and was called by the formation for a permanent federation of the American colonies. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was made by the British at the end of the French and Indian War to satisfy the Native Americans by checking their invasions of European settlers on their lands. -
The Sugar Act
This act was actually very helpful! They had foreign goods for example, sugar, coffee, wine, cambric, etc. In addition, colonists came up with an organized boycott imported from Great Britain. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was made to raise money for Britain. Their slogan was, “no taxation without representation.” It taxed pamphlets, newspaper, playing cards, dice, etc. -
The Declaratory Act
The Declaratory Act was so important for the British because their Parliament accompanied by the repeal of the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act was repealed and the Declaratory Act was passed on by the Parliament. -
The Townsend Revenue
The Townshend Revenue was an act which was passed by the British parliament. It taxed goods which was imported to the American colonies. The problems was that they placed new taxes and took away some freedoms from the colonists including imports of paper, glass, paint, and tea. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre- The Boston Massacre all happened when British soldiers in Boston opened fire on a group of American colonists which killed five men. Because of the Boston Massacre the British had organized a number of taxes for the American colonies. -
The Tea Act
The British Parliament passed the tea act. This act allowed the company to ship its to the colonies without landing in England. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a protest that happened in Boston, Massachusetts. American colonists were furious at the British for saying, “no taxation without representation.” -
The Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts was passed by the British Parliament. They were 5 laws that were passed on. American patriots named it, “The Intolerable Act” because they knew they couldn’t tolerate the unfair laws.
