Required the colonists to pay tax on most printed materials. Colonists were angry because of the Stamp Act.

Townshend Act

Prime minister imposed a small inderect tax on glass,lead,paper, and tea. They taxed their daily uses. The colonists were mad because these were things they needed to have and putting taxes on it was hard.

Boston Massacre

A mob of colonists in Boston began to harass British troops. Five colonists died as well as a black african american.

British defeated the Americans in Massachusetts. Even after they lost this battle gave them an extremly boost of confidence.
