  • Abraham Lincon's Election

    Lincoln ran against candidate Stephen A. Douglas who was a democrat and senator from Illinois. The Lincoln/ Douglas debates raised Lincoln's popularity and greatly helped in his winning the election.
  • Fort Sumter Riot

    Where the first battle of the Civil War took place. Just near Charleston South Carolina, Fort Sumpter controlled the entrance to Charleston Harbor. Major Anderson refused to surrender which resulted in a small battle only killing two soldiers.
  • Bull Run / Manassas

    In Prince William County, Virginia the Battle of Bull Run took place. It is considered the first major battle of the Civil War.
