Patrick Troughton would be introduced as the Second Doctor.

    On November 23rd, 2013, the world celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the longest running television show in history. The Day of the Doctor brought back David Tennent as the 10th Doctor, Billie Piper as The Moment/Rose, and introducing John Hurt as The War Doctor. The episode also starred Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor and Jenna Coleman as Clara. In one scene, footage from the past Doctors were shown. Audiences also got a look at the new 12th Doctor played by Peter Capaldi.
