    The Pendleton Act made is so that government jobs were given based on merit instead of the political influence they had.
  • Theodore Rosevelt

    During Teddy Rosevelts Precidency he esblished the Square Act. Put 150 millon acers of land under control of the forst service. Created 16 national monuments established 51 wild life refuges.
  • "The Jungle"

    The book "The Jungle" was an imprtant event in the progresive era because the progresive era was partly about reforming work conditions and getting rid of corruption in the government. "The Jungle" exposed the terrible conditions in the meat industry for the workers and animals.
  • Meat Inspection Act

    The Meat Inspection Act is so important because it provents copanies from putting out meat that would give people desises.
  • William Taft

    William Taft established the federal law agianst child labor. He also intoduced workers compensation and inforced a minimum wage for women. He impoved the inviroment of work spaces such as sweatshops.
  • Bull Moose Party

    The Bull Moose Party was the first time a third party was introduced into an election. The Bull Moose Party was another branch of the Republican party for those who did not 100 percent belive in Republican polices and planks.
  • The Black Hand Group

    Gavrilo Princip was park of the Black Hand Group who asasanated Archduke Ferdinand. Archduke Ferdinand was the air to the the throne of Austria-Hungry. This assasination was one of the main causes for WWI.
  • The Panama Canal

    The Panama Canal was a very important for the U.S. The U.S. now controlled the trade between the alantic and paific. The Panama Canal was also so important because it greatly shorted trips and it was dangerous to travel around South America because it was so close to Antartica, so the panama canal was the safer rout.
  • Clayton Antitrust Act

    The Clayton Antitrust Act is an extention of the Sherman Antitrust Act that eliminates only the trusts that have monopolistic power.
  • The 19th amendment

    President Mikinly established the 19th amendment granted women their right to vote.
