Lippershay invents telescope
Hans Lippershay invented the first telescope. He was a glass maker and invented the telescope but did not for those purposes. He used it for eye glasses. -

Galileo was the first one to the use the telescope to look into the sky. Everyone in the time thought that the Earth was the center of the universe nut he proved everyone wrong. He found the planet of Jupiter and all it's orbiting moons. -

William Herschel discoveries
Herschel was the first one to use large mirrorsto look beyond the planets. He discovered Uranus, the solar system and galaxy. He was the first one to identify the shape of the Milky Way. -
George Hale
George Hale is known for his discovery of the magnetic fields in sunspots. He was also the lead panner in the building of telescopes at Mount Wilson Observatory, Palomar Observatory amd Yerkes. -
Mount WIlson Observatory
The Mount Wilson Observatory is located in Los Angeles, California. It contains two historically important telescope, the 100 inch Hooker telescope and the 60 inch Hale telescope. These two telescopes were both the world's largest at some point. The observaory was built by George Hale -
Edwin Hubble
Hubble is known for providing evidence to prove that there are galaxies beyond the Milky Way. He also came up with the Hubble Laws, which shows that the universe is expanding. The Hubble Space Telescope was also named after him. -
