Expanded Technology Use for All Classroom Activities
Over the course of this semester, I have come to see that technology should be a more immersive part of my teaching. Students are ready and willing to try out new forms of technology as long as I can provide them with some direction. I now realize that I do not necessarily need to be well versed with an app or tool to have students use it. We can learn together as part of the process.
  • Technology for Engagement

    Technology for Engagement
My (re)Design work helped me to focus in on student engagement and the specific needs of each student. Technology offers the ability to easily differentiate instruction for specific learning styles, and to keep students motivated. When students are engaged, they can move to higher levels of thinking.
  • Gamification

    Gamification
I know that students enjoy playing games, but I never adventured far past the basics. During my time in TCH 430, I created new: Kahoots, Quizlets, and Review Game Zone games. I have also learned about other options, such as Gimkit from my students, which I will continue to explore. There are other options besides me creating these games. Students can create a review as an assignment, or we could work collaboratively as a class to generate questions.
