    Lau v. Nichols is monumental because in a society whose dominate language- in both education and business- is English, it is crucial for all members to understand it. Without it, my uncle from Japan, who spoke very little English before arriving to America, would be less likely to achieve the high of level success he has

    The Education for All Handicapped Children's Act is important to education, not just because of the outstanding services and funds it provided to those in need, but because of the way it changed people's views on those with disabilities. Granting them an equal and fair chance to proper education, by meeting their specific needs, did more than just educate them. It forced others to recognize them as equal and important, in both schools and society.

    Plessy v. Ferguson is not important because it teaches us what is right, but because it teaches us what is wrong. In order to create a society in which the wrong doings from history do not repeat, teachers must make a conscious effort to educate students on the importance of understanding our mistakes and how to prevent them.

Students that are recognized and praised for their gifts, continue to strive for more. Just like adults, children look for praise and when given, they continue to become better, well-rounded people. Children who feel valued, make others feel valued, creating a never ending cycle of value.
