    Anthony attends an anti-slavery conference, here she met Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Before women's suffrage, Anthony was devoted to abolishing slavery. At an abolitionist meeting Stanton told Anthony that in order to get a voice women first had to have the right to vote. This is important because this is where Susan B. Anthony met Elizabeth Cady Stanton and where Anthony decided she wanted to fight for women's suffrage.

    The first women's right convention Susan B. Anthony's went to was in Syracuse, New York. Even though she was fairly new Anthony Served on the nominating committee and as a secretary. It was also where she gave her first public speech for a Women's Rights Convention. This is important because it was Susan B. Anthony's start to fighting for women's suffrage.

    Anthony became an agent for the American Anti-Slavery society. This job involved putting up posters, organizing meetings, handing out leaflets, speeches, and dealing with violence. She would have to handle angry mobs, threats, objects thrown at her and much more. This is important because it helped Susan B. Anthony with speaking skills and organization.

    Susan B. Anthony helps found the American Equal Rights Association. It combined Women's rights and anti-slavery organizations. The purpose of this group was for universal suffrage. Soon after the group was formed it became a group for african american suffrage instead of women suffrage. This is important because even though the group didn't turn out to be for women's suffrage it proved that there are at least some people out there supporting women's suffrage.

    Anthony and Stanton found the National Woman Suffrage Association (NWSA). This association focused on a constitutional amendment for universal suffrage in america. Susan B. Anthony worked hard for the NWSA. One of the things Antony would do was give speeches around the country to convince other people to support women's suffrage. This is important because it showed that Susan B. Anthony could work hard for women suffrage.

    Susan B. Anthony and 14 other women registered to vote for a presidential election. On November 18 Anthony was arrested for voting illegally.She was fined $100 but she refused and never paid the fine. This was important because it showed that Anthony would do whatever it takes to get suffrage and she wasn't afraid of trying to accomplish this goal.

    This association was one of the main suffrage organizations of the time. Anthony is elected as President of National American Woman's Suffrage Association. She becomes the second president of the association. This is important because Anthony gets to put all of her hard work into being the president of the association.

    Susan B. Anthony meets with President Theodore Roosevelt to encourage him to publicly support women's suffrage. She wanted him to do this so that more people would also support women's suffrage. He declines to do so. It will take another 14 years after Susan B. Anthony died for the nineteenth amendment to be passed. This was important because it showed the women's suffrage would not be possible until President Theodore Roosevelt was no longer in office.

    The month before Anthony died, she attended the National American Woman's suffrage association annual convention. The convention was held in Baltimore, Maryland. By the time Susan B. Anthony left Rochester she was already ill. She couldn't make any formal speeches but she did attend a few sessions, went to the celebration of her 86th birthday and thanked the officers of the association. This was important because it was her last public appearance.

    She was 85 and died in her Rochester home on Tuesday at 12:40 am. Her doctor said it was of heart failure. Her funeral was held on March 15 in Central Presbyterian Church.

    The nineteenth Amendment becomes ratified. It states that everyone can vote no matter the gender. Susan B. Anthony first introduced this amendment in 1878. This is important because without this amendement women wouldnt be able to vote today.
