    The Black Death
    The Black Death was a MAJOR disease that took place a long time ago. This was mainly passed on to people that gathered around the docks to greet people on the ships, but what they didnt realize was that they were all VERY sick, or they were dead. This disease had a MAJOR impact on the Europeans, and is very important, because it took place. It is also important because when we had something known as the fuetal system the "poor" ones or the ones with "bad jobs" gained something from this.

    Dias believed he could reach India by traveling around the tip of Africa in "school" he head a "teacher" named Prince Henery the navigator. In 1487 Dias failed to attempt his trip- he only got to south Arfrica. This trip helped other people start voyaging around the world!

    This voyage started from Coulumbus hearing that Europe needed things from Asia. With hearing this he figured that he would go out and seek a route from Europe all the way to Asia. Before setting sail he saked the king and queen of Spain to fund his trip. When they finally said that they would fund the trip they gave Columbus 3 ships (The Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria). He was originally looking for Indian, but ended up going the opposite direction and ran into what is known today as the

    Matrin Luther becomes a monk, and the postings of the 95 theses
    Luther started the question the teachings of the church, so he created a list of ALL of the thing that he didn't like (there were 95 of them). When he got got done making the list he called it 'The 95 Theses', and posted it up on the door of a Christian church. When the Pope found out about this he DEMANDED Martin Luther to take back the 95 theses, but he did not follow the directions the Pope gave him.

    King Henry VIII's 1st marriage
    King Henry VIII's firdst marriage was with Catherine of Aragon. During this marriage they had ssexual intercourse and produced a daughter named Mary(which will later become Queen of England). Henry later wants to divorce Catherine, but Catherine does not want that. Without Catherine agreeing to get a divorce Henry is forced to seperate from the Catholic church (which means that he can now leagally divorce her).

    This had a very big impact on England, and is very important, because they have a child together (Mary), and Catherine was once on the throne as a wueen. This is also important because if you were Catholic you were NOT allowed to get a divorce, and Henry wanted one, so they called up the Pope and the Pope reminded them that it was illegal.

    The first Spanish explorer to reach North America was Ponce De Leon, and he landed in Florida in 1513. When he first steped foot on Florida he claimed the land for Spain without knowing who or what was on the land, or anything. This is very important because he did many things, such as conqueor the territory after finding gold.

    Anne Boelyn Beheaded
    Anne Boelyn and King Henery were married, and had a child that they named Elizabeth (Henry's second daughter). During this marriage King Henry was getting sick of not having a boy, and blamed it all on Anne, so despite the child they now have together King Henry wants her gone, so he beheads her. This was very important because their child they had together (Elizabeth) bacame the strongest and best leader England ever had!

    King Henry married "the love of his life" (Jane Seymour). While they were married Jane got pregnant and it was a boy. Their sons' name was going to be Edward. While Jane was giving child birth she died! Edward later then died at the age of 15, which broke King Henrys little heart. This was important because all Henry ever wanted was to have a son to be on the throne, and this couldv'e been his last marriage but Jane died giving birth to what King Henry wanted most.

    St. Sugustine is a city in north-east Florida. This is the oldest European- established settlement. It was founded by a Spanish admiral and Florida's first governor (Pedro Menedez De Aviles). This served as the capitol for florida for over 200 years!
  • Roanoke Colonization attempt

    Roanoke Colonization attempt
    Sir Raleigh wanted to establish a colony in the New World, so his cousin sent 3 ships there that were packed full with colonist. During this they encountered poor relationships with the Natives and were constantly running out of food. The three ships turned around and went back to Europe. This is improtant because it made other people want to try it, and it was attempted 3 times- but failed each time.

    Jamestown was a colony in Virginia that was named Jamestown in honor of James the first granting tthem money, and allowing 144 men to start a colony. It was founded in 1607. The people of Jamestown established The House of Burgesses in 1619. Jamestowns' land is very bad considering majority of it is swamp land. This is important because it was the very first established colony inside of America.

    Plymouth is a place where many things happened. Things that happened here were the very first Thanksgiving, the Pequot War, and King Phillips War. Plymouth is known as three things (New Plymouth, Pylmouth Bay Colony, and just Plymouth). Plymouth is VERY important, because without the existence of Plymouth many things wouldn't have happened such as the three things I listed above!

    This began when the Wampanoags were asked to surender their arms by the Colonists, and a Catholic native (an informer for the Colonists) was murdered. With this happening three natives were tried by the Colonists for the murder, and pleaded guilty, then got killed. This is important because it was the start of King Philips war.

    The capitol of Pennsylvania is Philidelphia, and it was founded by William Penn. Pennsylvania is also known as Povince of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Colony. Pennsylvania was where the 13 colony representatives gathered to have meetings. It is very important, because it made the country become what it is today.

    Where a group of women in Salem village claimed to be witches, and they became more strict on the trials of being a witch. They killed women they thought were "witches". This was VERY important to know, because if you weren't careful you could've been killed.

    Parliament placed a tax on ALL printed materials. The very first direct tax was for the colonists. In 1776 they took back the stamp act after everyone complained because it started the Sons of Liberty group.

    What is known as 'The Boston Massacre' was when 5 colonists were killed by British regulars, 3 were killed immeditley at the scene, while two others were injured at the scene, and later died. Alll of the victims were buried at Granary Buring Ground in Boston. This is very important because the British were fighting inside of America.

    This event happening was an outcome of the tea act. The colonists were required to pay tax on one of their favorite drinks (tea). The colonists were not only told they had to pay tax, but they had to buy a specific type of tea which was The British East Indian Company Tea. This lead up to the Sons of Liberty group dumping thousands of dollars of tea into the Boston Harbor.

    This was important, because many people were accused of doing it, and the colonsts were expected to pay the money back, but the Britissh closed the Boston Harbor due to this. Withe the Boston Harbor being closed they can't make any type of money because thats how they got their money in the first place.

    The tea act was passed by Parliament, and was an act to allow a drawback on the exportation of tea, to the 13 colonies. This was VERY important, because it made people not want to purchase tea, and whoever did buy tea was just making Parliament more money, and it was also important because this is what led up to what is known as The Boston Tea Party.

    Common Sense is a nonfiction book that was published by Thomas Paine. This was the first to openly ask for Independence from Great Britian. There are 48 total pages in this book. This book is important to America, because it inspired what is known as the 13 Colonies.

    Declaration Of Independence created/signed
    The Declaration of Independence was first drafted by Thomas Jefferson, then later got checked by the "leaders" of each colony. This document can be divided into 5 sections. John Hancocks signature was the biggest of all. This is important because without this document we wouldn't be free, and this document has many things in it tellling us what we can and can not do. "The Decleration of Independence is perhaps the most masterfully written state paper of Western Civilization." -Moses Colt Tyler

    This winter at Valley Forge was by far one of the hardest winters of them all for Geroge Washington and his men. This wiped out almost all of his men, due to them not having shoes, or appropriate atire. Some mens body parts were so bad from frostbite that they were amputated. This was important because it killed so many men that they needed to fight in the war. This is also important because it taught his troops how to survive in the winter time.

    It was when President Jefferson bought territory from France inside of the U.S. The land is now known as Louisiana.

    This was when a group of American pioneers went to go find Gold in California. It was during winter when people gort stuck in a path instead of taking the oregon trail. This was important becase it made people realize to not take the path.

    James W. Marshall discovered gold at what is known as Sutter's Mill in Caloma, California. Everyone began traveling to California to find the gold that everyone was speaking about. This is important because it made the economy alot of money.
  • Assasination of Abraham Lincoln

    Summary: Lincoln and 3 other people headed to Ford's Theatre around 8 p.m. to watch a play, while they were sitting there watching the play President Lincoln was shot in the back of the head with a revolver by John Wilkes Booth around 11 p.m. When the surgeons rushed up to the "presidential box" after they realized it wasn't a part of the play, they rushed him to the house across the street from the theatre and layed him on a bed, and told everybody he wouldn't make it through the night.

    Importance: This is important because John Wilkes Booth thought that killing Lincoln would make things better for the southerners, but what he wasn't realizing was that Abraham Lincoln was one of the only ones that wanted to forgive the southerners. Everyone else thought that the southerners should pay for what they did. So by John Wilkes Booth killing Abraham Lincoln it just made things worse for the southerners.
