    The first kindergarten was founded in America by Margarethe Meyer Schurz, she was from Germany. She names her institution Kindergarten meaning "the garden of children ,she characterized the children in his school as plants, and the teachers as the gardeners. Kinder in German means “children” and garten means “garden”, she also belives that children need to be nurtured and nourished "like plants in a garden".
