20 February 1962, America embarked on once of its most important space missions ever undertaken. The aim was to send a man into orbit and return him safely. It took John approximately 4 hours to orbit the earth three times. -

Mr Cooper was one of the very first people to ever sucessfully make it to space. Gordon frequently spoke of his UFO encounters and eperiences when he was back on earth. In total Gordon spent over 222 hours in space. -

Whilst campaigning the presidents vehicle turned down a road that pasted a school. When shots were fired in the Presidents direction, bullets hit his neck and head. He was then rushed to a hospital neaby. Little could be done to help. -

After Apollo 11 completed one and a half obits mission control gave the crew the go ahead to head to the moon. As they were piloting the lunar lander to touch down, there was 30 seconds left of fuel. Once Neil and Buzz landed on the moon, mission control erupted with celerbration.
