Leadership team discusses the possiblity of a Dual Immersion Program at South Ranchito Elementary School for Fall of 2015. Teachers who will be teaching the duall immersion classes, which are teachers currently teaching our bilingual classes, were all on board.

All 7 teachers, one per grade level, who are currently teaching bilingual classes at South Ranchito enroll in professional development through LACOE, training districts and schools on the strt-up of a dual immersion school.

Monthly staff meetings, staff is informed about our LACOE dual immersion school visits. Staff provides suggestions on ways we can promote the program: bilboard, movie theatre advertisement, lawn signs, post cards, banners, name change, etc.

Notice goes out in both English and Spanish regarding the possible name change, ideas to move South Ranchito forward, and suggestions for improvement. The naming committe was formed at this meeting, of both parents and teachers.

Official Naming Committee consisting of parents, teachers and principal review dual immersion school names and suggestions are also welcomed.
