    In between the years of 1475 and 1519 Vasco Nunez De Baldo was a Spanish explorer and conquistador, who had been the first European to see the eastern part of the Pacific ocean after crossing the Isthmus of panama overland. By doing so we where able to analyze the history of the Pacific Ocean.

    In the year of 1492 to 1504 Christopher Columbus was able to reach the main land of South america and in which he traveled as far south as the mouth of Orinoco River. However in doing this he was able to open up a passage way from the Atlantic ocean to the heart of South America.

    Discovery of Brazil

    Pedro Alvares Cabral was a Portuguese nobleman, explorer, and navigator. His patron was King Manuel I of Portugal, who sent him on an expedition to India. Cabral took 13 ships and set off on the route of Vasco de Gama. He sighted land on April 9, 1500 and named it "Island of the True Cross."

    Amerigo Vespucci in 1507 ha had used letters, and a German cartographer to make a new map known as South America in his honor. Now then it was important because it had been the first time that the word America had been put into print.

    In 1520 near the beginning of Magellan's voyage he was one of the first captains to make it through the straight of Magellan ( near the tip of south America ). This is particularly hard because of rough waters and constant changing wind patterns.

    In 1550 African slaves had arrived in Brazil making them 38.3 percent of the population. However because of them arriving in Brazil it had grown population but due to this we have many other different variety's of music that had been brought to life.

    In 1571 the Inca leader, Tupac Amaru had been beheaded in which who had been of the last Inca Empire to ever actually rule his empire. Because of his death there had been no living Incas left to carry on that tradition.

    Walter was British historian, poet, and solder. He mainly is credited for increasing trade in the new world in 1585, with discovery's in south America. He was killed be King James I under treason in 1618.

    In 1711 War of the Mascates begins in Brazil. In which had effected goods with some sugar cane owners. By doing so sugar and more goods where pushed around the world.

    in 1728-1779 Cook traveled the world thrice. his voyage nearly the same as Magellans. He also was the first to prevent scurvy.
  • Charles Marie de la Condamine

    Charles a french mathematician, physicist, and geographer was sent to Ecuadoran to measure the equator with Louis Godinand and Pierre Bouguer, as well as a group guiding them. He traveled through the Amazon region mapping most the area. he finished his measurements by 1739.
  • 1759 Spanish expelled Jews from Brazil

    1759 Spanish expelled Jesuits from Brazil. However by doing so no Jews had lived in Brazil making it one of the only places where Jews hadn't been allowed to enter.

    Alexander Von Humboldt
    A Persian neutralist and explorer who mapped most of central South America with his friend Amie Bonpland. He also explored the coast of Venezuela, the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers, and much of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico 1799-1804.

    In 1963 gold had been founded in Brazil which later on had effected the economy by bringing up the gold rush many years later.
