On a Monday night in March, 1770, an American Patriot started harassing a British soldier named John Goldfinch. Hugh White, another soldier standing guard, got aggravated and came over to defend him. Hugh White got mad and struck the harasser in the face. An angry mob that had formed began throwing chunks of ice at White and shouted “Kill him!” Finally, the Redcoats had to fire upon the mob. This started the revolution.
