    The tea act was a tax on tea so the East India Company could get back on there feet but the colonists refused to buy the tea so some guys in the Sons of Liberty dressed up as Mowhawk Indians in December of 1773 and got on the British's ships and dumped tea into the Boston Harbor which is call the Boston Tea Party and after the colonists dumped tea into the Harbor the British closed the port of Boston they no longer let Massachusetts govner them selfs anymore.
