The SMUSD Tech Academy launches as a PD program run and funded by own staff and teachers. The program supports a train the trainer model where our own teachers become the experts. We will become less dependent on "gurus" from the outside.

With integrated systems to reduce the use of paper as a medium to communicate, we also become much more efficient. As systems are online, information is now able to be part of a fully electronic workflow. We aim to implement standardized scanning/copier/printing systems that streamline our workflow.

The older traditional fixed desks with 4 legs and a separate chair in classrooms will be removed. New mobile integrated chairs and desks will be available for flexible configurations in classrooms.

Devices such as computers, tablets, smartphones will have induction charging capabilities. This will reduce the amount of wires and resources to manage them.
