Kansas could not come to a compromise leading to unethical solutions suck as, the plundering of shops and even arson. The Dred Scott decision was the decision of the Federal court on if former slave, Dred Scott was to be a free man, or still held by the oppressive chains of slavery. There were many different opinions on this because he lived in a free state, therefore, claiming that he deserves the right to be a free man. This was a social and political matter because of its relations to whether or not African-Americans, who have descended from Africans, could be free people.
