    The Mongols were led by Kublai Khan and japan was the only country in the east that wasn’t Mongol ruled. Nearly 900 vessels holding more than 40,000 soldiers were sent. A severe storm hit japan that killed over 13,000 Mongol Troops and the remaining soldiers retreated back to Korea. It was an unsuccessful invasion.
