Since the Earth was frozen, they couldnt burry the bodies so they started stacking them in streets, parks, and other areas where there was room.

Their food supply was cut and thousands of people died from starvation. All they had to eat was stail bread.

Several hundred thousand people were evacuated from the city across Lake Ladoga.

By January 1944, the Red Army had pushed the German army beyond Leningrad. The siege lasted 900 days.
