    The 3/5 compromise was an act for the southern delegates in which big southern states wanted more representation in government.Northern delegates decided not to count all the slaves into government anfd give power to the south. This led to the decision that in which only 3 out of 5 slaves would only be counted towards the to the addition of the population in government
