    Roger Bacon was born in Somerset, but went to Paris for schooling, then to Oxford for teaching. While here, he focused his attention toward math and science, and created the scientific method. His greatest works were the books he wrote, in 1277, about new scientific and mathematical inventions.     Nicolaus Copernicus was a Polish Astronomer who studied at the University of Krakow. He returned to Poland between 1507 and 1515 where he created the principle of heliocentric, the sun as a center. He concluded that every planet revolves around the sun, and the earth moves on an axis. He did this because he disagreed with Ptolomy's theory that the universe was motionless.
