School nutrition Program timeline

  • Free and Reduced Lunch Program

The Free and Reduced Lunch Program is a program based on family income that provides a free or reduced lunch to students that have a low family income. I think that the program is helpful because all students get to eat no matter how low their income is. Some students don't need reduced or free meals. That is one way the government is exploited and it needs to be resolved.
  • Child Nutrition Act

This program helped the governments efforts to provide healthy and nutritious foods to children. I think this program is a good one. If students are made to go to school then they should eat lunch. If they eat lunch then they should have a healthy and nutritious one.
  • Breakfast Program

The Breakfast Program was made permanent so all students had the possibility to eat a healthy breakfast every morning. I think the program is good for the school in general. Without school breakfast many students would be hungry in the morning.
  • DOD Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

This program delivers fresh fruit and vegetables to schools all over the country.
This program is very helpful I think. Without this program the students wouldn't be getting the nutrition they need.
  • Lets Move Program

The lets move program provides advice to parents and children on how to live a healthy life. This program is essential because children look at what their parents are doing and usually copy their routine. If the child sees their parents eating healthy then the child could repeat what their doing.
  • Hunger Free Kids Act

This program gives funding to school nutritional system and nutrition standards. This program helps children learn about nutrition and the nutritional system. This helps children pick better choices and have a healthy lifestyle.
