    This John or die drawing is a drawing that benjamin Franklen drew to show the colonist that if they dont john together to fight the French then they will all Die.
  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war started in 1754 in the Ohio Valley and oddly the war was not between the french and the indians it was between the French and the British, and the Indians were fighting along sides with the French. The war was fought for the land in the Ohio River and the control over North America. The war officially ended in 1763 when the Treaty of Paris was signed.

    The stamp act say that every person in the colonist must pay a taxes on all paper good even government documents. The reason that the British did put this taxes on the Colonist is because they were in major war dept from the French and Indian War. The reason they Taxed the Colonist is because the British fought in the French and Indian War to proctect the colonist and so they felt that the colonist should repay the Britsh, and they felt they should do this by payign taxes on all paper goods.

    The Quartiering act forced colonists to quarter the British Troops. This ment if a British Troop member needed a home and food any colonist must quarter them witch basically gives them a home and food. The colonists did not like the British troops living in there house but it helped The troops to survive, witch is what the king wanted, but not what the colonist wanted.

    The Boston Massacare was a bunch of colonists in front of the Boston Customs Store and were taunting the British soldiers with rocks, mud, and snow. The protesters called Patriots occupied their city with British troops. The British shot into a crowd and shot and killed 5 people one named Crispus Attucks, who they say started the Revolutionary War.

    The boston tea party started when the British decided to taxes tea and in the colonies they loved there tea so they got very very mad that the Britsh were taxing it so a group of people decied to to dress up as Indians and sneak on a cargo ship fulled with tea and they threw the tea over the ship into the water.

    The Meeting of the First Continental Congress was a meeting that was suppose to alk about the English Parliament. the meeting was made of 13 colonys. they were talking about the Englsih Parliament because the English Parliament just gave Boston Intolerable Acts becasue of what they did in Boston (the Boston Tea Party)

    This battle was very important to the Britains and the colonists. what this did to the British is it showed them how much firepower the colonists had and that colonists started riding ond horses to warn the other colonies when the British were coming.

    Commen Sense was a pamphel writen by Thomas Paine. He wrote the Pamphelt because he wanted to state the good reasons of seperating from the British. such as they would have their own government.

    The signing of the Declaration of Independence was the most important day to the colonists on getting their independece from Britian. this day was important because the Declaration of Independence was the paper that gave them freedom and independence from Britain. That is how we got our 4th of July holiday.
