  • Rwandan President killed

    Rwandan President Juvenal Habyarimana is killed when his plane is shot down from the sky.

  • Massacre at Gikondo

    Hundreds of Tutsis are killed in a massacre in the Pallottine MIssionary Catholic Church. This was the first sign of a genocide ocuring.

  • Massacre at the Nyarubuye Roman Catholic Church

    Thousands of Tutsis are killed by grenades, guns, machetes and clubs.

  • Kibuye Massacres

    12,000 Tutsis are killed and another 50,000 are killed after. Genocide continues

  • RPF Takes Control

    RPF takes control of the presidential palace and the Rwandan genocide ends
