First Day of School
Create clear and concise classroom rules.
Place this list in a place of good visibility for all students.
Establish warnings/consequences for when rules are not followed. -
Second Day of School
Review classroom rules, adjustments can be made if needed. Go over routine for coming into the classroom in the morning or from recess or what to do when work is finished early. Lunchtime and dismissal routine are also explained. -
Third Day of School
Review classroom rules and routines. Procedures for walking in the hallway and proper behaviour for outside the classroom are established. Welcome letter/list of classroom rules should be sent home for parents. -
Fourth Day of School
Review classroom rules, routines, and other outside classroom procedures, add any if missed. Ask students if they need clarification on anything. -
Fifth Day of School
Review classroom rules, and practice routines, and other outside classroom procedures, make sure behaviour is in check before moving into curriculum.
