  • Romulus and Remus

    The founding of Rome starts when a princess as two baby boys with the god mars. The king suspicious that they might have overcomed him,ordered to kill them. The princess put them in a basket along the tiber river. A she-wolf adopted them and soon after were brought up by a sheppard. The two boys grew strong and wealthy and decided to conquer lands. They split the land in half. Romulus marked a circle around his land which was dedicated to the gods. But Remus entered the land and was killed.

    Romulus killed the brother, and was the first king of Rome. That's why Rome is called this way.

  • The Etruscans

    Led by Tarquinius for over 100 years, the Etruscans are a group that settled in Rome and were the most advanced civilazation among all. When the Romans came, the Etruscans taught them their language which came from the Greek and was then modified into their own language. The civilazation of Rome that is now known today is because of the Etruscans who taught them all their skills.
  • Religious Beliefs (Etruscans)

    The Etruscans had many gods which derived from the greeks. The Etruscans believed that the universe was divided in provinces, and that in each province a god ruled. The etruscans believed in omens and toothsayers which were able to tell the fortune and the destiny of the Etruscans.

    When a noble died a great banquet was held and the two slaves who served the noble battled for him, to sit next at his side and to serve him also in the otherwordl The Etruscan tombs were called Catacombs who were painted with the daily life of the Etruscan. The Etruscans believed that life after death lasted longer and so the tombs were made by ivory or broze and that's why they were called "tombs of gold"

    The Etruscans loved dancing, they made giant banquets to honor the gods with their music and their dances. They have the same alphabet of the Greeks, only that it was modified. They believed in sooth sayers and omens to help them tell the destiny of the Etruscans. Etruscans had a sense of social order which classified by wealth and land. The Etruscans had a great organization which makes them still today one of the greatest civilazation.

    The Etruscan civilazation taguht the Romans how to live. They taught them their traditions, their language, which was Greek but was then modified. Etruscans had Omens and Toothsayers which eventually Romans beliveved in. They taught them how to build faster and slim ships which were reconized as the fastest in the world. And one very important fact that the Etruscans taught the Romans which is still used today, were sewers. In this way the Romans became one of the most advanced civilaztions.
