ROMAN BEGINNINGS

  • Founding of Rome part 2

The mother didn’t want her sons to die so she put them in a basket and then left them abandoned in a basket, on the Tiber River. Soon a she wolf found them and raised them. Soon a farmer killed the she wolf. That farmer soon raised them and brought them up into responsible men. They both grew older and decided to build a city on the Tiber River. They couldn’t decide who would rule the city so they fought until death, and Romulus killed Remus.
  • Founding of Rome part 3

He named the new city after him, and named it after himself, Rome. The she wolf and the two sons, Romulus and Remus are an important symbol in Rome. It can be found usually near the center. We can then guess that the she wolf and the two brothers are very important to Rome because of the Statue of the she wolf feeding her children, found in Rome.
  • FOUNDING OF ROME

The founding of Rome explains the legend of Romulus and Remus and how Rome came to be. It talks about how Rome came into existence. It talks about how a king and his wife lived happily together. The king forbade her to have children in order to keep his throne. The wife didn’t listen to him, and she accidentally had two sons with Mars the god of war. When the king discovered about the two sons, he ordered them to be killed, dropped in the Tiber River to drown.

  • Etruscans daily life

The Etruscans describes what their daily life and beliefs were. It shows how the Etruscans were able to better their way of living, by taking other ways of doing from the Greeks. Later their ways of living were passed down and helped even other civilizations.
  • Religious life

Their religious belief were like the Greek because they believed in many Gods. The Etruscans city was ruled by different Gods. There was also a soothsayer that could predict the future by reading the omens. The soothsayer decided the boundaries of the city and where the city was going to be built!
  • Estruscans Tombs

After people died, they were buried in a tomb. People lied in the center of the tomb. Most tombs became necropolis. From this I can guess that they must have been very rich because they had a lot of gold, iron and other minerals. I also know that the women had the equal rights because they could do things that the men could do. Lastly, I think that they Etruscans took a lot of their religious beliefs from the Greeks.
  • Etruscans and Romans part 1

“Etruscans and Romans” tells how the Etruscans and Romans were similar, and the connection between the two. The Etruscans had made a lot of changes to the Roman civilization. The Etruscan taught the Romans a lot of things like religious beliefs, architecture, sport, and languages. The Etruscans taught the Roman how to build especially the arch which was placed on top of the bridge. The Etruscans copied the Greek alphabet, which then Romans took from the Etruscans. These are some similarities.
  • Etruscans and Romans part 2

Whenever a noble died, there was always slave flight. A similar things was that the Romans had gladiators fight. The gladiators fight was an event where 2 people fight each other or they fought an animal. The Etruscan gave famous symbols to the Romans. The famous symbol was the fasces sigh. It was an axe which symbolized power. The Etruscan had some religion tradition in common. The Romans just like the Etruscans, read omens to predict the future of the city.
  • Inference between Etruscans and Romans

I can now infer that the Romans and the Etruscans had a strong relationship with each other. I think that because they must have traded a lot and that’s why they helped each other, in order to keep the trading going. I think that the Etruscans taught the Romans how to do many things, which really helped them making their city.
