    Boccacicio was born in Certaldo, Italy. He was a writer and a poet. He befriended a humanist poet, Petrarch. Was influenced by the writer Dante. He used a vernacular Italian in his literary works. His works influenced many writers in the romantic period.

    The Black Plague
    Killed thousands of peoople with in Europe and Asia. This desease traveled the water. Many thought it came from rats. In reality it came from fleas. When people died with the disease they threw them in ditch or hole. So the blood would run through the water and thats how people caught it through trade. Caused a labor shortage, and the survivors demanded higher wages
    / rights.

    The beginning of the renaissance was more artistic period. It began many social, economic, and political changes. Then started the idea of hummanism. The church lost some of its influence. This became known as the "modern era."

    Born in Florence the year of 1386 and he died Dec.12, 1466. Was the 1st sculpter of the renaissance. He revived the classical (Greco- Roman) stly of sculpture. His sculptures seemed very life like from every angle. Donatello`s "David" was the 1st standing human sculpture of the renaissance and was the largest.

    An Italian Merchant Prince. The Medici were wealthy bankers. They used their wealth to turn florence into Italy`s most artistic city. He lent money to the princely house of Europe. He was a successor. He helped facilitate the Italian Renaissance in florance.

    He was an inventor. He invented the printing press. It helped spread humanism and literature. People started to become more interested in history, literature and religion because of this. Easier to get books.

    It happened in Northern Europe. It embraced Humanism and other Renaissance themes but retained. Was under the power of the Catholic Church. The North focused more on the individual. This influenced many of the other Renaissances like the German Renaissance, French Renaissance and English Renaissance etc.

    Was a true "Renaissance Man." He was painter and sculptor whose art was known for incredible realism and emotion. He also was an inventor/ scientist who sketches reveal observations about human anatomy and new engineering technology. Greatest masterpiece was the "Mona Lisa" which was known for its emotion and depth.

    He was a chancelloer and secretary of the secon chancellory. Shared a passion for classical antiquity. He believed that God did not play a role in human affairs. He was considered to be good but look as weak when he let the Medici family come back to power.

    Was born in Rotterdam, Netherlsnds. He was an humanist. He also was a Renaissance writer. He advocated the reform of the church on the basis of study of the sacred texts. He believed the church didnt need institutional reform but "true religion." He became a Priests. Translated the bible into the Greek language.

    He was a Chancelloer for England. Seem himself as thhe leader of the humanist. Was also a lawyer who didn`t like all the power king Henry VII had. More was a Catholic who defended the pope. He is a Renaissance man because he didnt put limitations on life. Also was a father, writer and held many other titles.

    Was born in Castico, Italy. Served into the court of the pope Julius II. Castiglione was a Italian author and a diplomat.He established and became the arbitrator of aristocatic manners of the renaissance.

His paintings showed a combination of famous Greeks and Romans along with Renaissance people. Greatest painting was "school of Athens."

    He was a leading citizen of Stratford. He was an actor but also a playwriter. Used many of the Greek/Roman ideas when writing his plays. Shakespeare was one of the 1st to bring the Reanissance core values to the theater.

    Started to end because of the reformation. Then we had the religious wars going on. Then we got the many conflicts between the Catholic and the protestant.There is one church under the leadership of the pope.
