Under the Tea Act the East India Company received a majority of the tea market which angered colonists. It also removed some tea taxes, but that didn't satisfy colonists. The East India Tea Company ignored warnings of possible trouble and shipped tea to the colonies. At midnight colonists dressed as Native Americans threw tea overboard
